New trends and new business models

Until 12.02.2019, the leading international trade fair Ambiente – for products around the table, kitchen and household items, furnishing and decoration accessories, living concepts, giving as well as jewelery and fashionable accessories – will open its doors in Frankfurt am Main. This year, for a total of 4,451 exhibitors from 92 countries, the latest product developments and innovations can be admired here for five days. Our Marketing Manager, Manuela Richter, was on the road for us as a trend researcher and took a closer look at the latest developments and innovations in the industry. She was discovering which coffee cup color turns the morning coffee into a true pleasure experience and which products are even smarter as before.
The advancing digitization not only makes our products smarter, it also questions established business models, such as those of the major international order fairs, like the consumer goods fair Ambiente. Trade in this industry is also undergoing digital transformation, with order activity shifting towards digital alternatives. One of them is the digital B-to-B marketplace nextrade, which Messe Frankfurt is building together with nmedia for the consumer goods industry. Distributors will be able to place their orders 365 days a year, centrally and digitally.
